Message from the Mama

Here's a SpydeysWebblog interview with my pregnant wife, Brooke:

How are you feeling?
"Right now, pretty good. This is one of my favorite times of the day, because Rowan moves around like a little monkey. She can really belt the kicks and punches out! The effect of the last two seemed to leave an indentation bubble in my sweatshirt! Some women might complain because it does hurt sometimes, but I really like to imagine her hanging out in there and just doing her thing. I also take it as an indication she is coming along strong and healthy. If I were going to complain...not that I was going to, but since you are asking...would be to let you know about the line across my lower back (right where the rib cage ends) where it feels like a row of knives is jabbing me. It's never ending! It feels like that from about 10:30 am until I hit the bed, and no amount of squirming and twisting and stretching seems to make it go away. Trust me...I do the reccommended exercises."

When are you due?
"August 14th."

So, entering the final trimester, what are you most looking forward to?
"I've pretty much heard that there really isn't anything to look forward to in the third trimester. It's famous for some pretty serious physical discomforts. However, I am not the negative type and I must think of something positive. I am looking forward to learning many insightful things about child-birthing and child care in my upcoming classes at Dupont Hospital. I am hoping it is enough to at least curb the anxiety I feel about caring for a tiny little human."

Any plans for Baby Showers taking shape?
"I consider myself lucky because yes, I have three friends and one aunt currently planning three separate showers for Rowan. Now I have to get myself in gear and figure out all the things Rowan will need so I can register."
