That's Rowan with Noah Shlater. He's showing her his Lightning McQueen car. I think she was impressed. Big weekend for Rowan as she makes her stage debut as Baby Jesus in a nativity play at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church on Sunday morning. She'll be performing with the kids from the 3-4 year old class at 10AM. Should be pretty good stuff! Isn't everything with Rowan good stuff? We think so.
Put up or shut up time for the Redskins, again. This time it's Cincinnati, owners of 1 win and 1 tie this year in the NFL. Either we win or the playoffs are done with. They still may be done with, but a loss will be the finisher.
IU basketball season continues. I should actually call this an IU basketball adventure. Cause that's what watching these games have become. At least we had a good one on Wednesday night, a good adventure that turned into a win. I tell you what, I've seen more ways to turn a basketball over than I'd care to. At least the free throw shooting is better. We have Kentucky tomorrow, at Kentucky. They can be beat, but only if we have no more than 15 turnovers (in the game not the first half!). IU women have been playing well, with a big game vs. ranked West Virginia this weekend. Here's a great basketball story for you. [IUHoosiers.com & LA Times]
Some interesting movies coming up as we enter the holiday season. This week is the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still. I've never seen the first one, which is supposed to be a sci-fi classic. This one has Keanu Reeves playing a stone face, well who cares cause he's always stone faced. It's not getting very good reviews. Coming up is Yes Man, Seven Pounds, Valkyrie, and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Not sure how many we'll see in the theaters, but they're getting decent reviews. Button cleaned up Golden Globe noms. [IMDb.com & Rotten Tomatoes & LA Times]

Get your holiday viewing of It's a Wonderful Life on NBC Saturday night at 8PM. Remember when they used to run this over and over for days on end? Not anymore.
Woodrow Wilson had a presidential turnover plan if he lost his reelection bid. He didn't, but who knew? Here is the presidential succession list. [NY Times & Wikipedia]
