Rowan waking up! Stretchin!
Indian Summer came and went this week. We had 80 degree temps for the first half of the week, but now we're down to the more normal 60's. Fall has arrived. Which will make for a nice visit to Brown County this weekend for my nephew's 8th birthday party on Sunday. The leaves should be looking pretty good. It'll make for a crowded park, but a nice family picnic. I'm sure Rowan will love it!
Made it out to a movie on Wednesday night. Grandma Jeanne took Rowan for the night and we saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist at Carmike. We're big Michael Cera fans from his Arrested Development and Superbad work. With caramel corn in hand, we really enjoyed this movie. Brooke will be doing the review that goes up on the main page soon. I know, we've said we were going to see the Chihuahua movie, seems a lot of people are since it's #1 two weeks in a row. But I voted for the movie with better reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb.com. I think we made a good pick.
Body of Lies is getting hammered by the public, as in, no one is going to see it! Might be a little too real for the psyche of people. Maybe a talking dog is the type of escapism people are looking for in movie entertainment. I mean, Quarantine beat Body of Lies last weekend! Max Payne kicks off this weekend and it's getting pounded by the critics. Video games into movies seems to be a very tough sell...I did beat that game back in the day with a little help from Paul. Good times! Anyone up for seeing Oliver Stone's W.? Talk about one that might be a little too real for this time of the season...might be a rental.

Has it even been two weeks since the Cubs monumental collapse that has turned us fans into punch lines or gluttons for punishment? Not sure I really care and this article is spot on with how Cubs fans will deal with the team in '09 as well. Also, with the economy as it is, the Tribune company is changing their plans for selling the team. Never a dull moment in Wrigleyville. [Chicago Tribune]
