Germanfest this weekend in Fort Wayne. We may be heading down, not sure yet. It's hot and Rowan may be ready to just chill this weekend.
However, movies this weekend? Maybe. Couple of new ones starting that look interesting: Don't Mess with the Zohan and Kung Fu Panda. The Zohan movie is the new Adam Sandler flick and I could go either way. Looks like a cable viewing to me. Kung Fu Panda on the other hand looks really funny, having Jack Black helps. It's getting great reviews. The true question on movie viewing is it worth $8? Still need to check out the new Indiana Jones. [IMDb.com & NY Times]

United Nations got a food summit together this week to discuss the global food crisis. It's turned into the classic third world vs. first world nations battle. A crazy slideshow of flooding in Bloomington this week. Seems the amount of rain they got was too much for the street drainage to handle. If you've ever been to Bloomington, you're recognize these places. IU Memorial Stadium football field issues as well. [Indiana Daily Student & blogHoosiersHQ.com]
Seems us Americans aren't so keen on our big trucks anymore. $4 per gallon gas will do that to you! Several cars have passed the Ford F150 as the biggest seller. [NY Times]
Did you know you can get a degree in brewing beer from the University of California - Davis? I didn't. The professor of beer, Charles Bamforth, is pumping out students ready to brew your next glass. [LA Times]
You may have seen this week that Chicago made it into the 2016 Summer Olympics final four (with Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, and Madrid). However, they currently reside in 3rd place on that list. Lots to do before a decision is made in October 2009. [Chicago Tribune]
Apple opening store at the Lourve. Well, actually the mall connected to the Louvre. [San Jose Mercury News]
