It was one tough working day outside on Saturday. Paul came down

to help me remove several tree roots from the back yard. Four summers ago, I tore down a 60 foot
silver maple. Well, truth be told Paul's dad cut the tree down for me and promptly retired as a lumberjack! Later that summer Paul, Corey, and I used a stump chipper to remove the main stump.

Over the last couple of years, the roots have slowly made their way out of

the ground causing havoc with mowing and being able to run around the yard. With Rowan coming, I need to make sure the yard is safe for running and playing. In it's current state, it wasn't.
So Paul and I used shovels, an axe, and a
mattock to tear out about 40 feet of roots. Took about 4 hours to complete the project. We called the roots on the fence our Trophy Case. The slideshow running on the right side is from that day's

work. You can see the
pictures on SpydeysWebb Picasa page.
That evening Brooke joined us for a nice T-Bone dinner on the deck al fresco.
