Friday May 9th

Garage Sale weekend, oh boy! We did pretty well last year, so maybe our luck will continue. The weather is supposed to rebound for Saturday, giving us a decent spring day. Two years ago it was about 40 degrees outside with light rain all day. Last year was sunny and 70...so it could be just about anything. Come on by if you have time, the whole neighborhood will be full of sales.

No movie night this weekend...Shlater may do a review for Prince Caspian, he said he's going (Oh wait, that's NEXT weekend! Disregard my email, Shlates!). I don't think any movie is going to knock off Iron Man. I will say that What Happens in Vegas... looks effing terrible (as does Speed Racer)! If you haven't gone yet, you need to see Iron Man and also Forgetting Sarah Marshall. [LA Times & IMDb.com]

Ever heard of WiMax? I guess it's coming soon. Chicago will be hooked up by the end of the year. [Chicago Tribune]

I said in my last update that the government of Burma is whacked out. Seems they're paranoid to accept help from the US, even as events on the ground grow more dire. [Chicago Tribune]

The new Hulk movie has a tough row to hoe...the 2003 version sucked, so what can we expect from this one? There's a cool photo link on this story page for future Marvel movies. [LA Times]

Coach Crean is making his presence known at IU and here's hoping we'll be back on top soon. [CBS Sportsline]

Four current NFL players with origins in Nigeria made a trip back to their family's homeland this spring. One of the players is former IU defensive end Adewale Ogunleye. [NY Times]

Interesting article on how age differences play out among the likely presidential candidates: Barack Obama and John McCain. [NY Times]

Whack jobs is how I classified them earlier. Now they're taking the relief supplies as they come in? Regime change is in order, let's hope this tragedy is the tipping point. [LA Times & Chicago Tribune]

This week's news quiz! Haven't taken it yet...good luck and have a great weekend!
