 Today in History (April 29th): Rioting erupted in  Los Angeles after a jury acquitted four Los Angeles police officers of  almost all charges in the videotaped beating of Rodney King. Fifty-four people  were killed. [Wikipedia.org] I  remember watching this on TV at my house in Bloomington. I can't believe that  it's been 16 years since. Paul Till has a different memory of this  event:
 "That REALLY brings back memories??  Tillbilly was sitting on top of a "Hummer" at "Camp Pendleton" watching "Fox  Company II Battalion" prepare to deploy to L.A. and put an end to the madness. I  can tell you there were a lot of confused Marines that day!!! They were fully  armed to the hilt and extremely nervous. It is a really good thing they quit  rioting...."
