Monday's Reads

Oscar wasn't very Hollywood this year. All the acting trophies went to foreigners and most of the other winners were non-American. Need to see No Country For Old Men... [LA Times]

The Oscar nominated movies portray the world we live in today. Dark and foreboding. [LA Times]

Homes in the sky in a post Katrina coastline. The minimum above sea level building restrictions are forcing people to build their new homes on stilts. I guess the closer to the water the better. Can you imagine unloading groceries? They better have a pulley system. [LA Times]

Very interesting change of the times...young people aren't getting their licenses on day 1 of turning 16. I know Brooke and told me she couldn't wait to get her license. Now kids are waiting. [NY Times]
