Today was much slower than yesterday. We first had to find an ATM for more cash, and that was an adventure. We found out the only two places you can get money for sure are the post office and 7-11. How does that make any sense? We found a 7-11 and headed off on our journey.
First was Daikaku-ji on the north side of Kyoto. There was some sort of festival going on that day with hundreds of older Japanese women walking around with their kimono on. Pretty cool. The stone garden there was smaller and no pictures, but the architecture of the complex was incredible.
We took a short cab ride form there to Kinkaku-ji, or golden pavilion. This place was packed! And rightfully so. The park surrounding the pavilion was so beautiful with the autumn leaves. We took several pictures of this place and hung around for a bit.
Our final stop of the day for sightseeing was Ryoan-ji. The stone rock garden here is one of the most important Zen gardens in all the world. As a matter of fact, most of the things on our tour the last two days were UNESCO World Heritage sites. I especially love the Ryoan-ji temple complex. The walk through the park was a plus too.
