After our morning at the Eiffel Tower, we took a long walk through Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Loads of famous people are buried here (Oscar Wilde, Sara Bernhardt, Gertrude Stein, Chopin, among many others).Americans are more interested in one James Douglas Morrison, or simply Jim. Here's a photo of Jeff and I near Jim's grave. It's the one with the flowers on it. They've really changed the layout of his site since 2002. There's now the metal gates around the plot and you can't get any closer than we are. Jason was very close in 2002, you can see at the bottom of the page.
A complete tour of the cemetery took around two hours. the Rick Steves tour was amazing and very well done. It's built on a hill and the tour we took had us walking downhill most of the time. Jason and I walked up hill five years prior!
