Friday March 6th

Welcome aboard to the new subscribers this past week! Nice to have you on the list. Sorry about the multiple emails on old posts. The Feedburner program I'm using got bought out by Google, and I think there were some glitches in the system. Should be all good now.

Rowan went for a pony ride this past week. We'll, not really. Uncle Zach had her on the knee pony at my mom's house and she freaking loved it. Not surprising considering who her mom is! Does that mean I'll be in the market for another horse in 6 years?

March Madness has officially been kicked off. The square pool is up and running on SpydeysWebb.com. As of this writing we have 36 squares claimed. Selection Sunday for the team participants is March 15th with the tournament tipping off Thursday March 19th. One of my fondest memories from the NCAAs is when IU finished Michael Jordan's college career in 1984. Watched that game motionless on my bed, convinced if I moved the tide would turn and we'd lose. I didn't move and we won. I feel like I had something to do with that, right? Seems Jordan is still ticked about his last college game and how it made a name out of Dan Dakich. Thanks for the link Depune. [SpydeysWebb.com & USA Today]

We'll be out to see Watchmen next Thursday with Travis and whomever else wants to join us. We'll see it at Carmike with some caramel corn. Been too long since we've had some of that stuff! Watchmen is getting lots of press, as expected. I'm excited, I think it will be a good movie. Most of the reviews I've read seem to be from guys who don't understand the graphic novel or don't understand it's move to the big screen. I need to avoid reviews on it this week. Our review will be up for next Friday's blog post. March is usually the beginning of a good stretch of movies. We started last year in March and went through Rowan's arrival in August. As these movies come out on cable and DVD, you can check our old reviews out here. [IMDb.com & LA Times & Spydeyswebb.com]

There will be some March Madness with your clocks this weekend as well. At 2AM on Saturday night, we 'spring' forward into Daylight Saving Time. Change your clocks before going to bed! Hope this won't affect Rowan's pretty awesome sleep habits much. Here's a couple of things you might not know about DST. [US News]

The Obama's got their new dog this week, a Portuguese Water Dog. Slide show of presidential dogs. [Time]

Twitter me this? Are you twittering? I got an account this week and drafted Brooke as well. We're not doing it as much as John McCain! It's a tough habit to get into and I can't help but think, "who really cares what I'm doing right now?". Hollywood is catching on to Twitter as well as professional athletes, and that's changing the way the media will report on people. Now they can connect with their fans immediately and don't need newspapers and magazines for all their publicity. [AppScout.com & LA Times & Toronto Star]

They're figuring out how we go gray. In my case, quicker than some others. [Eureka Alert]

How's your 401(k)? Like most everything else, these accounts are crashing in this market. Here's some advice on 401(k) for all ages. [US News]

Amazon has an app coming for the iPhone that will allow you to download and read books like their Kindle reader. [LA Times]

It's warming up this weekend. Spring forward and enjoy it!
