Last blog post before winter...ugh, winter. Monday is the first day of winter and it looks like the weather will be agreeing with that description. I think Rowan will love playing in the snow and we just may get some of that for Christmas next week. She certainly loves to wear her new winter coat Grandma Jeanne got her.
Sheridan family Christmas festivities begin this weekend as my brother and his family make the trek up to Indiana. It'll be fun watching Ella and Grace play with Rowan for the first time. She was way to small last Thanksgiving to enjoy playing. Christian and I will be hitting Assembly Hall on Tuesday evening to see IU take on Loyola. Should be a decent game and hopefully a win!
Speaking of IU basketball, Uncle Dave and I had a great trip to Bloomington last Saturday for the Kentucky game. We played them to a standstill in the first half, but there are two halves in a basketball game and they ran past us in the last 20 minutes. A much better showing than last year's blowout in Lexington, that's for sure. The new basketball development center is nearing completion. Hope I get a chance for a tour, this place looks pretty sweet. [IU News Room]
An IU athlete was named a Rhodes Scholar this past week. Good stuff. [IU News Room]
The Big Ten Conference is looking to add another school or more to the league. They are missing out on the lucrative football conference championship game that most other large leagues have. You need 12 teams for that game, and the Big Ten is one short. My pick for the new school would be Pitt. I guess we'll see in 12-18 months who gets in. [Chicago Tribune]
This week's News Quiz and Pop Culture Quiz. I felt that the pop one was a bit easier this week, mostly because I got the same score on both. [Chicago Tribune]
Have you seen the new Iron Man 2 trailer yet? Holy cow, I wish that movie was coming out this weekend! I can't wait until next May. The new movie that's blowing minds this weekend is Avatar. It's getting some great reviews and seems to be a perfect mix of computer generated stuff and storytelling. Just might have to break the movie dry spell for this one. Come for the White House tour, get a free breakfast! [Atlanta Journal Constitution]
Rowan from last December...she's a bit bigger now!
Keep warm this weekend...enjoy some snow.
