Happy Birthday to Jason Shlater today! I think he's 45 or something. ; ) Hope you had a good one!
Rowan is doing great and had two awesome doctor visits this week. She's coming in at 19 pounds 8 ounces and 27-1/2" long. Started rolling over this week as well, so she's getting mobile. We're supposed to move into more and more solid foods which includes introducing meat into her diet. She's run through cereals, peas, carrots, green beans, squash (or squish), sweet potatoes, bananas, and pears. She really doesn't care for apples, believe it or not. Cut up bananas, Cheerios, real peas, turkey, and chicken are the next step toward what the doctor called adult table food. This should be fun!
Nothing movie-wise this week, but Watchmen is out next Friday. We're setting up a midweek viewing with my buddy Travis. We see all comic book movies adaptations together. It's one highly anticipated movie and I'm looking forward to it. Brooke may quick read the graphic novel over the next 10 days. That book is a lot to digest though...[IMDb.com & Watchmen.com & Wikipedia]
The IU basketball season is mercifully coming to an end. They should have only 4 more games. However, the NCAA tournament kicks off 3 weeks from yesterday. The square and bracket games will be back on SpydeysWebb.com just like the last two years. The squares board is up and running with dad getting the first square of this season. I'm guessing we have the board filled up in 10 days this year. Get it or be square! [SpydeysWebb.com]

Read this article earlier this week and then got it forwarded to me by dad and Uncle Danner on Friday. Those two lived these days in Indiana high schools while the Big O was winning championships. Good stuff and thanks for the link guys! [ESPN.com]

The winners are listed on that site, with the first picture you see from Brave Architecture is Christian's firm's job. You can see more write up on this project on the Brave Architecture web site. Click on projects then New Horizon, that's the winner. [AIA Houston & Brave Architecture]
Yes, the Cubs kicked off the 2009 season this week with a couple of spring training wins. I also picked up a few tickets to some games this summer at Wrigley Field. However, naming your kid after the Cubs, that's just a bit crazy. [HomerDerby.com]
Here's a good article about the banker who gave away his bonus money to his employees. He was a guest at President Obama speech Tuesday night and he also got a shout out from the Prez. Thanks for the link Depune. [Guardian]
These email farewells are becoming more and more popular and prevalent with all the recent layoffs. [LA Times]
The Oscar game was fun this year. Slumdog Millionaire took the big ones and deservedly so. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do. Found this article that explains some of how Slumdog Millionaire was made and how it survived Hollywood to become the movie hit of the year. [LA Times & Guardian Film Blog]
Economic techno article, but could be the recipe that killed Wall Street. [Wired]
Can you imagine having to buy back our country's cultural heritage? That's what the Chinese are being forced to do after many of their priceless items were stolen long ago. [LA Times]
