While we were in The Netherlands, I finally got to take a trip to where my grandfather's family is from: Bolsward in Friesland. Brooke and I rented a car to drive up. It's a little over an hour north of Amsterdam on one of their highways. The drive up was really cool. We drove over Afsluitdijk dam that separates the North Sea from the Zuider Zee.
While in Bolsward, we took a walking tour of the town and had an amazing lunch in the town center. The weather cooperated with us as well. A very good time.
We headed back into Amsterdam to meet Simon.
