Brickety Bracket

The NCAA games are in full swing! Lots of squares won on this first weekend with the Hill family taking the most cash money. How did this happen?

Well, that last dunk by UCLA's Russell Westbrook late Saturday night did NOT count! At first, they listed the final score as UCLA 53 - Texas A&M 49. I, of course, hit the TiVo button back and forth to prove to myself that it shouldn't have counted. I even thought I saw the ref waive it off at the end of the replay, however CBS kept calling the score 53-49.

I awoke Sunday morning to update the Square Pool and saw ESPN had the score still 53-49, so that's how it went in the books on Sunday morning. Come to find out, they changed the official score Sunday afternoon to the correct 51-49 final. Therefore the square was rightfully won by Jennifer Hill with her 1,9 square. To top it all off, her husband took the Western Kentucky final on Sunday with his 2,3 square. A Happy Easter to the Hills!

They got this call right, and I'm glad to see they did. I certainly wouldn't have slept right on Saturday if I'd had Jen's square and they kept that final score 53-49!

The Bracket Pool moves along with BJ Hayden taking over first after the second round. Defending champ, expectant mother, and my wife Brooke holds onto second just one point behind! Chris Bassler finished the first round best with 26 with BJ and my mom (!) picking the most Sweet Sixteen games with 12 right. It's going to be an interesting last two weekends...
