Southwark walk

Today was a walk down the Southwark area on the southern side of the Thames River. Before that we started the day walking around the Buckingham Palace area and then the tube to Waterloo station.

The walk started along the Thames where we stopped at the Tate Modern museum. Lots of modern artwork at the Tate, which was very interesting to say the least. The Tate is an old power station that has been modified into this brilliant museum. The first picture is of us on the balcony at the Tate overlooking the Thames with St. Paul's Cathedral in the background.

Right next door to the Tate is Shakespeare's Globe Theater that's been reconstructed. There was a play starting in 30 minutes, so we couldn't take the tour. We walked around the area before heading over to the city side of the river. This second picture is of us in front of The Globe.
